TVS Motors report 7% gain for December FY25, EV boasts 79% – Times of India

NEW DELHI: TVS Motor Company announced a 7 per cent growth in monthly sales for December 2024, with 321,687 units sold compared to 301,898 units in the same month last year, according to a company statement released on Thursday.
Sales in the company’s overall two-wheeler segment rose 8 per cent from 290,064 units in December 2023 to 312,002 units in December 2024. Domestic two-wheeler sales remained steady, reaching 215,075 units versus 214,988 units a year ago.
While motorcycle sales dipped slightly to 144,811 units from 148,049 units in December 2023, scooters showed a remarkable 30 per cent growth, with sales jumping from 103,167 units to 133,919 units year-on-year.
TVS also saw a surge in its electric vehicle (EV) segment, with sales soaring 79 per cent to 20,171 units, up from 11,288 units in December 2023.
Exports spiked by 22 per cent from 85,391 units in December 2023 to 104,393 units in December 2024. Two-wheeler exports accounted for a significant share of this increase, growing 29 per cent to 96,927 units compared to 75,076 units last year. However, sales of three-wheelers dropped to 9,685 units from 11,834 units in December 2023.
For the third quarter of the 2024-25 financial year, TVS recorded an 11 per cent increase in two-wheeler sales, reaching 11.8 lakh units compared to 10.6 lakh units in the same period of 2023-24.
