Chappell Roan just stood firm over her cause.
From playing for one the largest crowds to battling the cons of fame gallantly, the Red Wine Supernova singer has garnered a remarkable fanbase and a reputation as someone who is unafraid to speak what’s on her mind.
Recently, after being addressed as brave, she clarified that her advocacy, especially for the rights of the trans community, is not brave but a matter of life or death.
In an exclusive conversation with BBC Radio 1, in celebration of receiving the Sound of 2025 award, Chappell was praised for her boundaries that she has with press and fans alike.
“I think it comes out of survival more than bravery,” she told the outlet.
Chappell continued, “Me standing up for myself on a red carpet or fighting for trans rights with what is happening [in the USA] is life or death.”
“It’s just a duty. I feel responsible to do my best as a human,” the HOT TO GO crooner added.
Chappell Roan is particularly known for her support for the transgender community, not only because of her unapologetic queer music but also because of hoe she dedicated her VMAs win to the “queer and trans people who fuel pop.”
