Shawn Mendes has admitted that he is “absolutely” considering quitting his music career.
The 26-year-old singer got candid about giving up his career in a candid interview with John Mayer on How’s Life.
When the host asked Shawn about his alternative plan, he replied, “I have no idea. I seriously thought about it.”
“I actually took a small therapy course and I was like, ‘I might just become a therapist in a small town,’” the Stiches hitmaker added. “It’d be weird at first for everyone, and then eventually they would just get used to it.”
The Treat You Better crooner also shared his dating plans during the interview.
“Yes. For sure. I think, yeah,” said Shawn. “I guess as long as we’re living, we are healing.”
The singer also confessed that it “sucks” to hear tracks about himself.
“It sucks to feel like … It’s a funny feeling to feel like you’re being written about,” said Shawn. “And maybe the whole picture’s not being expressed.”
